Adaptable, Inquisitive, Talkative
Kenyatta first learned about Christie’s Place while she was a student at SDSU. The agency’s commitment to supporting women and their families resonated strongly with her as a young student trying to find a career. After many years of working at different organizations throughout San Diego, she felt lucky enough to begin working at CP in 2017. It was truly a full circle moment for her! Kenyatta’s most memorable moment at CP thus far was experiencing her first women’s retreat in Julian, CA. She says, “The fellowship and community created in that weekend are truly special. At the retreat, no matter our status or station, we are all just women supporting and encouraging one another. It is a one-of-a-kind experience for everyone in attendance.” Similarly, she is inspired by the resilience she sees in our clients every day. She’d consider herself lucky to have even an ounce of their strength. What she’s learned most from working here is that it’s never too late to change your life. No matter the circumstances or challenges you’ve experienced. You can always make a change for the better! The title of her life’s book would be called, It’s Nice to be Nice.
