Cathy Brown was born in Sacramento, CA and moved to San Diego, CA when she was 18 years old and loves calling San Diego home! Cathy attended San Diego State University for her undergraduate program with a degree in Psychology, and Sacramento State University for her graduate program with a master’s degree in social work. Cathy received her license in October of 2017 to become an LCSW. Cathy has a background in grief and loss, mental health and in the last 7 years, has become very passionate and involved in the HIV community. Cathy loves being an LCSW, and being empowered by the individuals in her community. Cathy feels lucky to work with amazing clients that want to share their stories, and to be able to participate in that process. Cathy is grateful to be a part of Christie’s Place, where she can continue to empower San Diego women and their families living with HIV. When not being an LCSW, Cathy loves to be with her husband, family and friends, her dog Kenni, to be traveling and backpacking, enjoying the beach and bay, and just overall enjoying life!
